u-blox Introduces Secure Bluetooth LE Module
u-blox is now offering the ANNA-B5 Bluetooth LE (BLE) module used for industrial automation, smart homes/buildings, healthcare, and asset tracking.
The ANNA-B5 module is powered by the Nordic Semiconductor nRF54L15 ultra-low power wireless SoC, featuring an Arm Cortex-M33 MCU running at 128 MHz, 256 kB of RAM, and 1.5 MB of non-volatile memory. Optimized for ultra-low power consumption, it is ideal for applications demanding extended battery life.
The module’s compact size (6.5 × 6.5 × 1.2 mm) with a fully integrated antenna makes it suitable for a wide range of IoT devices. Its compatibility with other u-blox ANNA modules is key to effortless technology migration, such as transitioning to the latest generation of BLE modules. With its professional-grade u-connect Xpress software, ANNA-B5 ensures reduced compliance costs, faster time to market, and seamless international deployment.
Semtech Partners with Skylo Connectivity
Semtech Corporation is partnering with Skylo, a leader in Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) services, to unlock satellite connectivity for IoT applications where conventional cellular networks are unavailable, such as shipping and emergency management.
Semtech’s HL781x modules are fully compatible with Skylo’s expansive satellite network service, enabling global connectivity through NTN integration enabling satellite connectivity. This partnership between Semtech and Skylo bridges the gap between terrestrial and satellite networks for a more connected world.
“The power of satellite-over-cellular is now accessible to more organizations worldwide through our partnership with Semtech,” said Vijay Krishnan, vice president of strategic partnerships at Skylo in a statement. “As we look towards the future, the advantages of standards-based, ubiquitous coverage become clear. No one else has built an integrated experience from the ground up with a standards-based ecosystem of partners from chipset makers to module and device manufacturers, certification testing labs, SIM providers, and mobile carriers.”
In addition to supporting satellite connectivity, the HL781x modules support terrestrial LPWA networks using Cat-M and NB-IoT. When paired with Semtech’s Smart Connectivity Premium service, the solution provides global coverage to connect critical applications anywhere in the world.
“We are committed to delivering cellular IoT innovations that empower our customers to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving market,” said Ross Gray, senior vice president and general manager, IoT systems and connectivity at Semtech. “Our mission is to simplify IoT deployments with scalable and reliable solutions, enabling businesses to innovate confidently and succeed in today’s global market.”
AI Agents for Security Cameras Launched by Spot AI
Spot AI is offering the world’s first universal video AI agent builder for enterprise cameras and conversational interface for video data, called Iris.
While Spot AI’s agents address standard workplace challenges that reduce injuries, minimize security risks, and prevent operational bottlenecks, Iris now enables organizations to build custom agents that act on insights.
Iris creates custom Video AI Agents through simple conversation, the ability to train your own AI model with positive and negative reinforcement, and customize physical world actions to trigger responses like stopping machines, securing doors, or activating tasks via integrations
“Iris transforms how we interact with video data through natural conversation,” said Rish Gupta, CEO and Co-Founder of Spot AI “What ChatGPT did for text, Iris does for video—making powerful AI capabilities accessible without requiring technical expertise.”
While Spot AI’s existing agents address common use cases across industries, including manufacturing, warehousing, healthcare and security. Video AI agents continuously monitor critical areas, reducing workplace incidents and inefficiencies with minimal manual oversight. The agents allow teams to swiftly address safety hazards, security risks and operational bottlenecks, while Iris provides the simple conversational interface to build and interact with them as needed.
Wyred Offering Private Network Solution
Wyred has launched Kyro, a portable, on-demand private network solution geared to industries that operate in challenging environments.
Kyro is a secure, rapidly deployable, and adaptable private network solution designed to serve industries such as mining, energy, public safety, transportation, forestry, and agriculture. This new solution follows a flexible rental model, allowing businesses to access high-performance connectivity without long-term contracts or significant infrastructure investments.
” Kyro is reshaping the way industries approach connectivity,” said Paul Howarth, President, Wyred. “We designed (it) to be as dynamic as the industries it serves—fast to deploy, cost-effective, and built to perform in the toughest conditions.”
The solution was designed for remote operations, where little to no connectivity can create significant networking challenges leading to delays, safety risks, and operational inefficiencies. Key benefits include portable and rapid deployment, flexible CapEx and OpEx models, enterprise-grade security and dealer network expansion.
