Beyond ATA 2000: 7 Stories of RFID in Aerospace and Defense

ATA spec 2000 is gaining momentum, as new aircraft programs incorporate RFID for enhanced traceability of serialized parts. Meanwhile, without much external fanfare, aerospace and defense OEMs have embraced RFID to improve manufacturing and logistics efficiency for their existing programs. This session will focus on how seven aerospace and defense companies use RFID to manage the complexity of distributed manufacturing operations. Specific case studies will include tool control, specialized equipment management, materials management, work-in-process tracking and attestation, and an update of the ATA 2000 spec for trading partners will be provided.
